While I knew of Entree Kitchen for sometime, my first "full" experience was when a colleague of mine decided to have a "Girls Night Out" here. As someone who had heard about the prepare-your-own-meals model before, I was curious and eager to try it out. I had so much fun and brought home so much food, that I decided to get a membership. I think many on here have already shared how the concept works, so I'll skip over that, and tell you my personal story, which has many more ins and outs. I first joined because, after years of working at home, I was back in an office setting, 3 days a week. I found the Entree Kitchen meals PERFECT for those days... I'd come home and literally pop one of the meals I had prepared in the oven for 30 minutes, throw in a side dish I had bought with my member discount, and boom! Dinner! At that time, I decided to make the experience my "quality" time with the hubby. He came with me on the weekends, and we prepared the dinners together. It actually was really fun, and with the two of us preparing the meals, it went much faster. Then... tragedy struck. My husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Life changed. I started to work from home, and I wasn't able to go there to make the meals. So I decided to have the meals pre-made and pre-delivered. For the price, it made sense, and it was a life-saver for me, who had become the full-time caregiver for my ill husband. My meals come, I put some in the fridge upstairs to eat right away... the rest go in my basement freezer until I need them. They took all the time and guesswork out of preparing dinner! And with my head and my heart completely devoted to my husband, that was VERY important. Now I'm SO spoiled... I'm not sure I'd go back to making the meals myself. :) It feels very luxurious to have the meals made and delivered, and yet the price point is still extremely good for the food we get. I just plan the monthly member amount into my budget, and I find I have SAVED money on my overall grocery spending. More about the business itself... The customer service cannot be beat. Owner Diane will bend over backwards to make sure that you, as her customer, are satisfied. Enough said. There are four in my family, but my teenage girl floats in and out at dinner time, so I chose the "split" option with 3 plates per entree... and if she was around, I'd make the full option, knowing we might be extra-full or have leftovers. Works for us! I'm always impressed by the quality of the ingredients. Especially the HANGER STEAKS -- incredible! Always tender and juicy. And as good as the entrees are... The sides and the desserts keep me coming back. My kids are huge fans of the roasted ranch potatoes. I used to make similar "Greek-style" potatoes, and have come to realize, Entree Kitchen's are better than mine. And the baked goods! The Apricot, Cranberries and White Chocolate Oatmeal cookies are to die for. And we get a FREE batch of the chocolate chip cookies with every order. When I make the cookies, I feel like a 1950s Mom, who always had something baked for the family! :) I channel my inner "Aunt Bea"! If you like that "home-made" taste and meals that are a little more "creative," but you, like me, find yourself in a time crunch, I think you'll find Entree Kitchen to be a quality and yet cost-effective solution!

I love Entree Kitchen and would recommend them to anyone that does not have the time to prepare meals for their family. As a single person it fits in perfectly with my lifestyle since cooking for one is just not practical. Diane is a joy to work with and she was accommodating of my special dietary needs obtaining the organic steak that I needed. Whether you are a busy professional, a scheduled filled stay at home parent, or a single person who has given up cooking tasteful meals because it does not seem worth it for one person, Entree Kitchen is a great person who will work with you to meet your needs. Kudo's to Entree Kitchen for providing a business that that can handle a daily chore and make it so much easier!

They use frozen ingredients and minimal spices or flavors. Some of the dishes can be pretty bland or boring. For a family that is super busy this place is tops. Affordable and quick.

I first meet Diane 5 years ago when she pruchased insurance from our agency. I met her at the store and the rest is history. Diane and her staff make your dinner quick and easy. The kitchen is clean, the food is fresh and they take pride in providing the best service. BUT most of all it is delicious. Whether you prepare the meals in the store or stop by for the "grab a meal" it is simple and convenient. The hangar steak is to die for!! The breakfast rounds for a busy family are quick and very delicious. Every month there is a new menu and some old favorites. If you havent tired it...it is a must.

As a busy working/hockey mom I have added the dinners at Entree Kitchen as a staple in my home. Thank you Diane for creating an alternative to eating at fast food places. I love that they have added delicious sides to the menu choices. My favorite is the cauliflower bake. My other favorites are the turkey chili, hanger steaks, pork stir fry and nutritious breakfast rounds. I'm a healthy eater and appreciate the correct portion sizes and nutrition taken in account to the menu choices.

I came here with business colleagues as part of an employee outing, and I am really glad I did. Entree Kitchen is a make-your-meals-and-freeze type of place - great place and a nice convenience for people who don't have a lot of time to cook during the week. I think a package here would make a lovely gift for a new mom/dad with no time to cook. It is also a nice venue if you want to get a group of girlfriends together with some glasses of wine and just hang out and cook together. Very clean group kitchen with its separate work stations. The place is very cute and social. Diane B., the owner, is absolutely a delight. She and her staff go out of their way to please, and they do a great job. They make it ridiculously easy for you to make these meals in a snap. The menus are really tasty and appealing - lime chicken tacos, slow cooked ribs, pulled pork sliders, parmesan encrusted salmon, etc. The sides they offer are just as good - asparagus with cheese and bacon, parmesan/garlic cauliflower/broccoli. And they have scrumptious desserts - my family enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake delights and the chocolate peanut butter bliss. I thought it might be helpful to address a Yelper complaint about the taste being bland. Entree Kitchen caters to a wide variety of consumers, so the recipes/menus they provide offer the basics but give you the freedom to adjust according to your tastes. You are making the meals so you control how spicy and flavorful you want your meals. If you like it more salty/seasoned than others, they have a spice rack where you can go and add what you want. Or feel free to add a 1/2 cup of chili sauce instead of a 1/4 cup. I'm Asian so I typically like all my foods with a lot of zing and flavor (and super spicy) so, as prompted by Diane, I increased the seasonings a little more where I thought it might be lighter than I hoped. Or where there were ingredients I didn't like (mushrooms - blech), I just omitted those. Every meal so far has been a hit with my family (although I probably should've added a little more maple to my maple pork tenderloins as I like them very sweet). I don't mind that Entree Kitchen uses frozen meat or fish - the end product is still very tasty. I love that you are making sauces from scratch and not using the bottled stuff (e.g., like barbecue sauce). I will definitely return to Entree Kitchen to help me out during the weeks I'm very busy, and I definitely will use them for gifts for new moms! Also, these meals inspire me to do my own. Wish there were more locations of Entree Kitchen or more places like it. Diane, I'm glad you saved this place and that you're keeping up the great work.

great environment, great selections, fair prices and jusy a fantastic way to prepare food at home without all the messy prep and clean up - I'll be back (Friday, in fact!) It's also a great place to pick up meals if you want to help out a friend in need of some TLC!

We also love getting the pulled pork sliders , TCB chicken , Pork adobo . The Meat loaf with mashed potatoes were very good as well. We really haven't had a meal we didn't like ! I wandered in to Entree Kitchen today, bleary eyed and getting over a sinus infection, wondering what the heck I was going to feed my daughter and I for the week with the hubby out of town and me just too darn tired to cook or go shopping. I was amazed at how meticulously clean this place is and how friendly and helpful the owner is. To serve my purposes today, I purchased from their pre made frozen selection which you either thaw and cook in the oven or throw on the stovetop. Tonight we ate the french onion cod with a side of sweet potatoes and apples. Both were to die for! The cod fillets were thick, fresh and absolutely perfect. The sweet potatoes and apples were YUMMY! I also left with balsamic vegetables, Thai peanut chicken and a turkey and sweet potato chili. For $60 the two of us have plenty for dinner for the week and then some. Totally worth it! Servings are based on recommended guidelines, so keep that in mind. Also, while not inexpensive I certainly wouldn't call them expensive. For the convenience and the deliciousness I'd call this a very fair price for the overall benefit and very worth it whether it be something you do once in a while, or on a weekly basis. I'll definitely be back! This is such a great choice for anyone short on time or inspiration!

i will agree that the ingredients should be fresher/of higher quality. and it would be great if they started using fruits and veggies from the local farmers (7am-1pm every wednesday in winfield!!!). also, the waste of plastic bags drives me nuts so i bring my own reusable ziploc/glad containers. the convenience is hard to beat, and it takes me 20 minutes to make 6 meals, not an hour. it saves me time later on down the road, and for someone indecisive about what to eat, i just open the freezer and pull a couple things out. voila! lunch and dinner for tomorrow! about the serving sizes...HELLO america! the serving sizes are that way because WE ARE ALL FAT. i applaud them for sticking to this knowing they get complaints.

When my yearly membership came up, I opted for the monthly meal plan after having the 9 month option. this service has completely eliminated my dinner challenges! great variety, convenience and friendly service. Life is good when you have a plan! Eliminate the tolerations, streamline your day to day with Entree Kitchen and go out to eat for a treat the other nights!

Always beong on the go , both parents working and three kids still at home this is an aweseome set up. Affordably priced, always fresh ingredients and they take special care on advising on my list of allergies. We do the 6 entrees a month and I usually do my own sides. This is a huge timesaver for me and way healthier than the fast food alternative we were getting comfortable with. The entrees are delicious, easy to prepare and liked by my husband and three sons, the real test! The atmosphere is elegant and the food prep area in the round. The staff is very gracious, friendly, and knowledgable. The place is also great for hosting a Girl's Night Out and other Networking events or meetings with packages for Appetizers or a food prep class. Or maybe you have a close friend in the hospital or new mom and want to buy a small meal package as a gift. This is also great for seniors. You can't beat the price vs the delicious entrees. Check it out...you will love it!

This is one of those make-your-dinners-ahead-of-time places. You pay a fee based on how many "meals" you want to make, go in there, work like a dog for 60 minutes, and have 6 meals to take home and put in your freezer. If you want 12 meals, it's a 2 hour session. Conceptually, I thought this was a great idea and went for the 6 meal session. I signed up and headed in, ready to have all these meals my family would chow down on and I wouldn't have to think about making. First of all unless you just consider your meal one dish, it's not a whole meal you are preparing. It's just the meat/fish/chicken/pasta dish! So you still have to come up with the veggie, salad, bread, etc. Also their idea of a serving is the one approved by the food pyramid people, enough for a kid under 5 to eat. So it's not enough food if you have 4 people that eat. Maybe enough for 2 adults and an infant. You could throw in an anorexic girl as well. I also had a problem with the ingredients. While they did have some great cuts of flank steak, the salmon portions were frozen and the chicken breasts were those big frozen blobs you get in the big plastic bag at Cub Foods! Hello, I'm paying about $20 a "meal" here, how about some fresh ingredients? The recipes were ok. There was marinated flank stead, salmon with pesto sauce, some beef and chicken dishes as well as lasagna (too goopy) and soup. And the point of paying $20 for some soup is......? I have to say the facility was VERY clean and the staff was around answering questions or telling people to go faster since their time was running out. It was nice to have them actually involved. So if you are truly desperate for meals and have a family that isn't picky and doesn't eat much, this wouldn't be a bad fit. But if you are a cheapskate like me with big eaters, this isn't the place for you!

I became a member of Entree Kitchen as soon as I heard about the new ownership(08/09). I had such faith in Diane that I knew the service would not disappoint. I have a family of 4, so we order the 12 meal plan in a "split". Once per month, I get 24 meals delivered to my office at closing time. I take them home and throw them in the freezer. For only $10 per meal I have supper ready every night for a month. I work late, so it is a relief to know that my husband doesn't have to cook and take care of the children. The portion sizes are healthy and satisfying. It's not a super sized portion, but it is a healthy one. The taste is very good-flavorful. My husband is picky picky and even he likes them! I would recommend this service to anyone who is too busy to cook but wants a healthy meal served in their home, a gift for new Moms or after surgery, or just a unique Christmas or Birthday gift.
